Designer Jackie Glass transformed a dated bungalow into a bright and open-concept space with a clean-lined aesthetic. (And large windows throughout that give the home a stunning treehouse effect!) The house welcomes with stunning porcelain tile in the entryway, which is also used on the fireplace surround in the sunken dining room. The kitchen is the hub of the home, boasting two islands, a breakfast nook and an intimate seating area. The garage was turned into a serene master bedroom with a spa-like ensuite. Jackie also installed a walk-in pantry and a laundry room with a dog shower. http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/2159143/list/houzz-tv-amazing-indoor-outdoor-architecture-near-venice-beach In designing a home for one of Venice’s typically long and narrow lots, Ehrlich recalled lessons he’d learned from the local architecture of Nigeria and the courtyard layout of houses in the medinas in Morocco. He calls his approach “multicultural modernism.” The result is a house that takes advantage of the climate and that uses natural systems and technology to boost the home’s efficiency.

Here's the latest house flip from http://www.tomtarrant.com, a 1962 Drogin-built Mid-Century Modern renovation located in San Diego, CA. We maintained respect for the original architecture and design while bringing in modern materials to bring it into the 21st Century. You'll see replica period light fixtures such as the Sputnik chandelier and brushed aluminum hourglass wall sconces. We even replaced the mosaic bathroom tile with a modern glass mosaic in a retro pattern. In the kitchen we used modern flat panel cabinets in high gloss grey and light grey quartz countertops. The bathrooms got new versions of floating vanities and wall mount faucets to match the original design. The original tongue and groove Cedar ceilings were sandblasted and re-stained and we used Milgard aluminum dual paned windows and sliders throughout to give the original feel. A new 50-year roof, renewable bamboo floors and complete landscaping including driveway, modern fence and full view aluminum garage door completed the package for the new homeowner. This incredible Green Button Homes LLC Design/Build only took 11 weeks to complete. See more projects at http://www.tomtarrant.com. We Buy Houses in San Diego.
