In the caged system we need to locate where is the root and where is the chord built into that root. To improvise on the key changes you can rely on the scale positions or use the caged system to stay on the same area of the fretboard and get a more focused and fluid sound. ►►Watch This Video Next https://goo.gl/1f9R9A ►Subscribe https://goo.gl/CmJzN2 ►Free Theory! https://goo.gl/Han6lO ►Short Guitar Lessons https://goo.gl/BVjLOs ►Long Guitar Lessons https://goo.gl/i8Wml0 ►Lesson Packs https://goo.gl/kNEBI8 ►Guitar Licks https://goo.gl/yEYTPJ ►Reviews https://goo.gl/Bb9uTn ►Check Out My Music https://goo.gl/Tocer3 ►Business Inquiries: david@davidwallimann.com Follow Me! The Most Important Guitar Lesson I Ever Had - Learn Every Scale In Every Position

This is NOT a beginners lesson. Also I know I've written E twice, it was simply a typo. One of them should be Eb. Here's a video on the most important guitar lesson I ever had. Using this technique you'll quickly learn and master the guitar fretboard and learn every scale and arpeggio in every position on the guitar. I'm playing a Gibson Les Paul into a Marshall DSL 100 H amp. In this video we are going to talk about scales.

Sometimes the physical aspect of playing can get in the way but also the theory behind scales can get in the way.

Instead of thinking in terms of scales what you need to do is to match the musical elements. Match the melodic lines with the chords. Find the position of a chord and start phrasing with that.
