But does he have an ulterior motive? After splitting with Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and subsequently selling The Rovers, it appeared Peter was keen to get back on his feet owning another piece of Weatherfield. Could Peter have been eyeing up a more lucrative piece of land that gave him ideas to get back together with Carla after four years apart? Fans watched as Carla and Peter made an emotional reunion inside the factory, with Peter suggesting Carla can “open up” around him. Breaking down in tears while thinking about her late brother Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), Carla said: “I miss him! I thought I couldn’t cry anymore.” Peter then comforted his ex and said: “Hey. If you need to cry, you need to cry.” Carla chuckled: “Says a man who’s never worn eyeliner. What must I look like?” Caressing her face, Peter then remarked: “Beautiful” prompting Carla to shake her head. He continued: “You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I know I messed it up and I know you can never love me again. But you’ll let me help you? That’s all I want.” Carla then leaned in for a passionate kiss, but soon pulled away leaving viewers to wonder whether she would call it quits there and then, making sure to keep their arrangement professional. However, clutching each other’s faces, they both moved in for another long smooch as the credits rolled. Is Peter moving on from Toyah in quick fashion in order to own the factory - something which would have proved seriously difficult on his own? The sale of the factory came after businesswoman Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) revealed she was willing to sell Carla the factory for the value of Aidan's original stake. Carla was stunned by the news at first, but was ultimately delighted. However, the soap quickly took a dramatic turn after Peter overheard Carla talking about buying the factory. With this information, fans will remember he had an idea and told Alya that he was Carla's investor. He then told her she will have the money that same day. While many will be relieved to see the Carla and Alya feud is finally over, they will not be expecting Peter’s upcoming plot twists. In light of the episode, Corrie teased: “Later, Carla and Peter let themselves into the factory to survey their empire. “Carla becomes emotional about Aidan, is she really ready to run the factory again?” For confidential support call the Samaritans in the UK on 116 123 or visit a local Samaritans branch. Coronation Street continues this Friday on ITV at 7.30pm.

Piers Morgan returned to Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid today after taking a break from the ITV show and he was certainly back on his usual form.

Discussion turned to the Hither Green burglar Henry Vincent, a member of the travelling community, who died while trying to rob the home of Richard Osborn-Brooks and his wife.

Tributes have been laid outside the home of the two pensioners and debate has continued to rage on about the controversial placement of the balloons, cards and flowers.

Susanna began: “They are allowed to grieve but I think everybody thinks they should grieve elsewhere, he was somebody committing a crime and we have a pensioner who’s house it is, scared of returning to his house to the point where he thinks he’ll have to sell.

“The family know how much the neighbours and the community are hurt and affected by this.
Piers, 53, piped up: “I think it’s disgusting.”

However, journalist Rebecca Reid was on hand to defend the family and friends of Vincent.

She said: “I think when somebody dies and the people who have lost their father, their brother, nobody is having a good time of it.

“If it was my dad, my brother, my partner I’d want to grieve however felt natural to me.”

It was clear Piers wasn’t about to change his opinion anytime soon though.
Rebecca explained it was common practice in travelling communities to lay tributes at the scene of where someone has died.

Piers was evidently seething as he bellowed: “I couldn’t give a stuff about how that community grieves!

“These morons are threatening them again.”

Former police officer, Peter Bleksley, was also there to discuss the issue and he appeared to side with Piers.

He said: “I think it’s political correctness gone raving mad.”
Piers uttered agreement before adding: “Absolutely disgraceful that this is happening in this country in this day and age.”

Those watching at home appeared to be behind Piers as they took to Twitter to commend him.

One viewer exclaimed: “I rarely agree with @piersmorgan but I do regarding this burglar’s family and friends activity. He didn’t pass at the property, so no flowers etc should be put there. They should mourn him at their site, or wherever he lived and NOT at his terrified victims home! #GMB @GMB.”

“Well said @piersmorgan! Not afraid to say what the majority think, the burglar died in circumstances he brought on himself. By all means grieve but do do privately! #GMB,” another wrote.

A third added: “Totally agree with Piers Morgan on this issue... never thought I’d say that. #GMB.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
